These charges may include the following:<\/p>\n<p><b><u>ENERGY CHARGES<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Fixed Charge <\/b>\u2013 Covers expenses incurred regardless of how much electricity you use, such as monthly costs for metering, billing and maintaining your account.<\/p>\n<p><b>Energy Charge<\/b> \u2013 The cost to generate electricity and deliver it to your home. The total amount of energy you use (kWh) is multiplied by the cost per kWh. The charge per kWh varies by account and can be found in the residential rate schedule.<\/p>\n<p><b>Interim Rate Charge<\/b> \u2013 A temporary rate adjustment applied while Dakota Electric\u2019s new rates are under review. The interim rate allows the cooperative to begin recovering updated operating costs until final rates are approved.<\/p>\n<p><b>Resource and Tax Adjustment (RTA)<\/b> \u2013 Adjusts electricity prices based on changes in wholesale power costs and certain taxes since the last time Dakota Electric set its energy rates.<\/p>\n<p><b><u>MISC TAXABLE<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>AGi Recovery Fee <\/b>\u2013 A monthly fee used to recover the cost of installing advanced meters and communication equipment. The 2026 AGi fee is $0.74 per residential meter per month and will eventually be eliminated.<\/p>\n<p><b>Franchise Fees<\/b> \u2013 Based on a percentage of the member\u2019s monthly bill. These fees are required by franchise agreements with certain cities. Dakota Electric collects and remits the fees but does not profit from them.<\/p>\n<p><b><u>TAXES &amp; FEES<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Sales Tax<\/b> \u2013 State sales tax applied to electricity service as required by Minnesota law.<\/p>\n<p><b>Dakota County Transit Tax <\/b>\u2013 A tax applied to members who live in Dakota County.
